The conversation moves to a brief study on Julie Andrews, and whether she was secretly a member of the Jugalos, before attempting to get back to the last topic of the show - artists that no longer matter. Some of the names and bands will shock you (or shake your fist to the sky).

Back in the building buddies! Still talking records, but this conversation adds a little flavor thanks to a Canadian neighbor 🇨🇦. On this 'sode I'm speaking to SeeJayAre (Charlie), longtime YouTuber and lifelong music fan. If you are familiar with his channel, Charlie has amassed a loyal following of video game hunters, garage sale enthusiasts, and op culture collectors alike, now approaching close to aspirational 100k subscriber mark (just a hair under 93k as of this episode). He had built one of the greatest retro game and physical media spaces through nothing more than dedication and hustle, hitting garage sales regularly over a decade. After a hiatus from YouTube following some life changes, he's back at it as he begins anew, both with his content and his game collection.

The conversation gets to learn more about his own journey with music, from the early days of sharing rock music with his dad, discovering a passion for 90's hip-hop as he was growing up, to building his own vinyl record collection in the same fashion as his gaming one. Like one collector to another, we share a similar path in how we build collections of what we enjoy, both for the thrill of the find and a callback to what we've enjoyed for over a lifetime.

Charlie generously shares his tips for garage sale success, and a couple of stories of the days (and early mornings) hitting the back roads and subdivision pavement in search of treasures from yesteryear. 

We wrap the conversation with another fun lighting round of questions that find Charlie and Concert Buddie both trying to resurrect Tom Green's old hip-hop band (look it up, it happened).

For this particular extra stanza following the latest SURFACE NOISE, we workshop a new segment called "It Came...From the Hoffman Forums" where our dais comments on questions posed from one of the longest running message boards in the Vinyl Community. Then a fight almost breaks about between the peanut gallery and John Bong as Top Gun (yes, that one) is under seige as a standard of modern film. Who knew it could be just as dividing as it is uniting?

We close sharing some of our recent finds, including our guest Jeff (Vinyl Record Info) flexing on a couple of wild psych grails he picked up online, including a trade on Instagram (trades are real, people).
