Set your lasers to FUN, Buddies! This latest 'sode is a conversation with a YouTube channel + creator that recently hit my radar in the past few months (silly algorithms), although she's been doing it for much longer than that.  Monie Muse (Monica) has a passion for the music collects, and collects it across multiple formats besides vinyl (CD's, hello). We talk about her experience on YouTube, and what it's like to be a woman in a space often crowded by very opinionated men. From there we touch on how she sources the pieces she collects, what music fills her cup, and her focus to living intentionally with the music she does keep (ie minimalism). Northern Revolutions | Grace Potter: The Journey to ”Mother Road”

Hello again everybody! For this latest installment of Vinyl Community Podcasts, host Rob of Northern Revolutions is joined by Concert Buddie (Chance) to discuss their shared affinity for the talented singer/songwriter Grace Potter. Both have been fans of her work for over a decade, and share similar paths to learning about her and following her musical journey since. Grace began her music career some time ago, most notably in the band bearing her name - Grace Potter and The Nocturnals - starting around 2005. This was the starting point for our hosts, with both discovering her music right around the same time in 2011. After several years and releases with the band, Grace forged a new direction with the release of her first solo work - "Midnight" - in 2015. A callback in several ways to artists of yesteryear, she evokes the fire of Janis Joplin, the showstopping stage chops of Tina Turner, incredible musicianship across multiple instruments, and the songwriting of some of the great rock writers of the modern era. On her latest release - "Mother Road" - we find her clearly in her own lane, with clear direction on her sound, her songs, and her music as she points her car forward into the distant horizon. What do the guys think of the new album? How do they feel about her penchant for releasing her work on vinyl?  And what album/songs would they recommend to someone new to her music?
