Founded in 2013 by Cameron Schaefer, VMP was initially established as a record of the month club, offering curated vinyl selections delivered straight to the doorsteps of it's members. Surface Noise | Listening Party (Terra Firma)

Welcome back my friends to the show that sometimes ends. Trying something new this week for SURFACE NOISE. Fresh off the heels of listening to the new album from Nick Perri & The Underground Thieves - TERRA FIRMA - our team share some thoughts, observations, and other insights into this album, as well as plays some choice cuts from the 14 song, independent double LP release from this collective. With 3/4 of the panel new to this artist and his music, it was a fun way to get fresh perspective on this fresh release, and we hope you take time following the pod to give the album a listen on your preferred streaming platform of choice. Greetings Buddies! For this latest one-on-one on Vinyl Community Podcasts, I'm joined by Jim Kaplan - the founder, publisher, distributor, editor, deliverer (if that's a word) of Record Collector News. RCN has been in print since 2008 just celebrating it's 15th year in existence. Published 6x each year, RCN showcases articles, op-eds, and additional content on the hobby from a vast array of contributors, including some in the Vinyl Community from YouTube. Not only a great source of information, RCN has given many folks (myself included - full disclosure) an open invitation to write for the paper sharing distinct points-of-view into record collecting in the current era. Jim has some great stories not just on the origins of RCN, but how he started his connection and passion for music, and his own insight into record collecting today in the metro Los Angeles area. Concert Buddie | Records, Music, and Terra Firma: A Conversation with Nick Perri

Buddies! Excited, pumped, stoked...I haven't been able to find the right words to express how thrilled I am to share this conversation with you! Dropping today, June 16th, TERRA FIRMA is the new double LP album (yes, double) from Nick Perri & The Underground Thieves. This is the 2nd album for this collective, and I was fortunate to spend some time talking to Nick about the new album, his fascinating career in the music industry (imagine opening for the likes of Van Halen, Aerosmith, and Motley Crue during the beginnings of your career - fresh into your 20's!), and his twists and turns since then that have led us to this incredible album: TERRA FIRMA. What is it like to create at every possible step of a project - writing the music, organizing the production, overseeing the mastering, promoting the project, then touring on it (I'm tired just writing that!). Plus, Nick is super passionate about vinyl and it was a MUST that this album (and the preceding title SUN VIA) came out on the format. I loved talking the hobby with him and you'll see him light up as we nerd out talking records and old media. I mean, it couldn't be a Vinyl Community Podcasts show with records, could it?
