Sharpen the skates, Buddies! For this latest episode on Vinyl Community Podcasts and my series "Mind of The Record Collector", I'm joined by Steve Westman. Steve runs a terrific channel on YouTube, complete with regular content and interviews with a litany of guests in the Vinyl Community. You'll regularly find Steve and his guests discussing the topics of the day in the record collecting hobby, as well as sharing information and tactics for procuring the latest new releases. Before YouTube, Steve went about sharing his passion for music and record collecting during the pandemic on several Facebook groups specific to Audiophile record collecting - buying, selling, and trading - where he remains an admin on several to this day. We also hit on Steve's early interest in collecting records, whether there's any "competition" amongst other Audiophile-branded channels in the community, and close with some patented lightning round questions led off by who Steve's "grail" guest would be. Northern Revolutions | Tale of Two Record Collectors

In this latest installment of the Vinyl Community Podcasts, our host Rob of the YouTube channel Northern Revolutions chats with Jason Arsenault.  Jason has been long time viewer and comment contributor of VC videos and has recently jumped in the pool and started making his own YouTube vinyl content.  

 

Jason and Rob have vastly different experiences in the vinyl record collecting world.  While both are in their 40's, Rob has been a record collector since his teenage days in the 90's, whereas Jason is a relative newcomer catching the vinyl bug during the pandemic.  As a result the have had quite different experiences with the hobby.  The discussion ranges from how each got into the hobby, how buying has changed in the last 30+ years and where their collections are headed.

 

Rob and Jason have quite different perspectives but ultimately share the same love of the format.
