Love it or leave it, the series Mind of The Record (er, Music) Collector is back on the airwaves of Vinyl Community Podcasts! This spin around the turntable features our guest Steve Herold, a lifelong collector of music in the physical form. His pursuit of music extends beyond our beloved vinyl - of late he's been feverishly pursuing compact discs for many of the same reasons we got back into vinyl 10-15 years ago. While the Vinyl Community is all abuzz about the thrill, adventures, and treasures of the recent Record Store Day 2024 event, your host Rob from Northern Revolutions is joined by Joe from Racer Records to talk about used vinyl. Rob and Joe chat about the "other side", the "less pretty" side of the record hobby and that being used vinyl. The resurgence of the last 15 years has seen a massive deluge of new vinyl but the side benefit is that used vinyl is coming out of the woodwork. Everyone has rare and expensive records (or so they think). There are collections aplenty making their way into the used market.
